One of the characteristics of BBT has always been its readiness to work with other local groups in a common goal. So this weekend volunteers from BBT met up with volunteers from Uribe Butroeko Sarea in Jainko, Arrieta to gather apples that might otherwise have gone to waste as unfortunately happens in so many places. In two hours, luckily just before the rain started, volunteers were able to gather 1200 kilos of apples. These apples will now be used to produce somewhere between 500 and 600 litres of apple juice. The juice will then be sold by both BBT and UBS to make some money for both groups. Great teamwork! And while we are talking about teamwork, here’s a reminder that the tree planting in Emerando as part of BBT`s Carbon Compensation initiative will finally take place on the 27th November.
