STOP INVASIVE SPECIES, STOP PAMPA!

On Saturday 5th September two members of BBT together with one of their children met up to cut off the feathers of the pampa grass near the Al Campo supermarket in Mungia.

It is the feathers that contain the seeds that allow the pampa grass to spread and in Bizkaia it wouldn`t appear to be a priority to get rid of this very invasive species.

Of course our action was quite symbolic as the feathers will probably appear again so we have organized another action morning for the 3rd October at 10:00 in the same place when hopefully we will have more volunteers and we will not only cut off the feathers but use grass cutters to cut down the grass and hoes to remove the smaller ones. Hopefully we will see you there!
