TRANSFORMED LANDSCAPE
The project «Transformed Landscape» arises from the need to project a different vision of nature. They are paintings made in times of a global pandemic in which I wanted above all to highlight the tranquility that nature reflects in contrast to the anxiety of the cities itself. A representation of wanting to fix the times that run these days, the relationship between man and his environment. It is easy to see how man and the «digital age» are transforming the landscape and the way we see the landscape. For this reason, they are images where fields, forests, seas or mountains are altered by elements of technical and/or digital drawing, as if it were a project addressed by the industrial sector.
In this project «Transformed Landscape» I have wanted to work from images based on memories, stories, spaces. I describe it as «a walk through my memory». The juxtaposition of shapes, spots, lines, colors, geometric shapes, all these elements of the drawing help me to create images of nature marked by human activity. The representation of a landscape where the duality of our era is seen, a need to connect the digital with the manual, the dynamic with the static, depth with flatness, movement with stillness.
