The Larreko Mahaia was set up in Gipuzkoa to commemorate the events of Zaldibar and to create a meeting place for social and trade union activists concerned about the ecological emergency. But the initiative has since grown and especially in Bizkaia environmental groups, trade unions, youth movements and feminist movements have begun to act, and BBT has also adhered to this proclamation of the Larreko Mahaia.
February 6 is the terrible anniversary of Zaldibar when its landfill site collapsed. Therefore, it is proposed to carry out various acts locally to denounce the reasons for the ecological emergency in different towns on or around January 30th. We are involved in this organizational work, and we hope that many other social agents and associations in our region will also take part.
In Bizkaia on December 19 at 10:00 in Bilbao there will be a meeting to organize the U30 at the headquarters of Bolunta (Zabalbide, 1).
