GOIENER celebrates 5 years of providing renewable energy!!

Many of BBT are also active members of the alternative Basque renewable energy cooperative Goiener. On Saturday 23rd November it celebrated its 5th annual assembly, this year in Hernani, where Goiener, though its partner cooperative, NafarKoop is now in the process of buying the old hydro-electrical station so that it can produce clean, renewable energy.

If any of our members are still not members of Goiener they can do so for the modest sum of 100 euros and so ensure that the energy that they consume will be %100 renewable. You can then become a member of the NafarKoop cooperative and for as little as 100 euros help to produce clean energy.

On a more local level, in Mungia, the association Errota, is hoping to get acceptance for its plan to produce energy in Mungia and BBT is one of the supporters of this project. If the plan gets the go-ahead it cold open the doors for many similar small, local projects to produce clean energy and fight climate change.
