GETTING RID OF THE PANPA IN FRUIZ

On March 31st with the help of good weather three friends spent three hours getting rid of the invading panpa plant in Fruiz. Although no other BBT member or neighbour appeared to help us, we succeeded in getting rid of a lot of panpa. On arriving we saw that municipal workers had already “taken away” some panpa. But the thing is that when we want to get rid of panpa grass it`s not enough just to take it away with a trimmer because of you don`t cover it with something it`ll grow again immediately and the seeds will easily spread. What must be done is get rid of the panpa by the roots. Well, although we get rid of a lot there`s still a lot to be done.

The nicest thing was to meet the local community president who thanked us for what we had done, especially as he has been trying for some time now to get the town-hall to do this work. So we can safely say that we are doing the right thing and BBTS work is clearly recognized.
