ETHICAL FINANCE TALK
On 21st February around 20 people met up in Mugire “txokoa” to listen to Juan Carlos Gimenez from Fiare and Joseba Larriba from Oikocredit.
Juan Carlos Gimenez spoke about the ethical Fiare Bank; a cooperative credit bank which was set up thanks to the efforts of people and organizations who were inspired by the principles of ethical finance; transparency, participation, online work, efficiency and the social impact of economic activity. Joseba Larriba explained what Oikocredit is; a financial cooperative which offers loans and investment possibilities to microfinance institutions, cooperatives, Fair Trade organizations and both small and medium-sized businesses in developing countries.
Both organizations offer great experiences and opportunities to projects based on the social and solidarity economy.
