BBT is now a Member of the Ekokontsumo Federation!

Last year we were invited to take part in one of the meetings of the Federation of Associations of Responsible, Ecological Consumerism of the Basque Country to learn about its objectives, values and how it works .etc.

After attending a meeting in Novembe in the premises of BioAlai in Gasteiz, we sent a request to be a member of the Federation. Our request was accepted was accepted at the last meeting in Donosti. So we are now members of this inspiring project together with associations in Bizkaia, Araba, Gipuzkoa and Nafarroa.

The main objectives of Ekokontsumo Federazioa are to promote and diffuse responsible and ecological consumerism, as well as representing the associations in all those forums where questions to do with responsible consumerism are addressed. It will also serve as a link between the associations to encourage them to work together to further those objectives.

At the moment Ekokontsumo forms part of the Ecological Agriculture and Food Council of Euskadi (ENEEK), and supports various initiatives  aimed at furthering the aims of responsible and ecological consumerism (Country fairs, conferences, talks).

It is made up of six associations that represent around 1,750 families. These associations are BioAlai (Vitoria-Gasteiz), LurGozo (Ajangiz), Marisatsa (Durango), Otarra (Donostia – San Sebastián), Bidazi (Lesaka) and Butroi Bizirik-en Transición (Mungia).
