Amalur, new environmental group in Mungia
Amalur is a group of young people from Mungia who have got together to deal with environmental issues.
Iratxe, Aitor, Eneko, Joane O., Irune and Joane M. from Amalur this Sunday, September 15, organized a clean-up in three areas of Mungia: area near the Fairground, Torrebillela park and Butroi river bank.
Through social networks they were able to bring together more than 50 young people outside Mungia Town-halll, after which they were divided into three groups, and with gloves and bags in hand they collected all type of waste; the usual type of rubbish (sweet papers, plastic bottles and «many» cans of soft drinks, cigarette butts, etc.), but also unusual things like an electric blanket, computer board, fire extinguisher, clothing and building materials. After an hour and a half of cleaning, they returned to the meeting point and put all the bags at the foot of the stairs of the City Hall, with a clear message: «You must reduce consumption» and «If you generate rubbish take it with you to the nearest container» , a message that we hope the passersby have captured. After the well-deserved rest they took the bags to their respective containers.
From BBT we want to congratulate Amalur on the initiative and all the young people who took part in this great clean-up. They have our unconditional support!
