URIBE OPEN: POLLINATORS IN LAUKIZ! THOSE LITTLE INSECTS THAT ARE SO NECESSARY FOR US

On Sunday, September 12, we began the outings programmed by Uribe Open!

With a full group of 20 people, and a beautiful, sunny morning we spent a lovely morning in Laukiz. Ana and Cristian welcomed us and then Belén guided us on an «imaginary» journey in order to awaken our senses and environmental awareness.

While we walked the fields, Belén told us about the pollination of plants, animals and pollinating insects, the value of ecosystems and above all about the global problems they face: the decrease in the population of these pollinators due to pesticides, fragmentation of habitats and populations, climate change, etc. We had a chance to look at the actions we can take to conserve these essential insects.

At the end of the outing, Cristian and Javier were waiting for us with refreshments of delicious, organic and local products.

It was a great and very rewarding outing, where we shared unforgettable moments. It was also nice to see people of different ages, and it was also great to get new volunteers for BBT as a result of the outing!!
