The Plentzia Herri Lurrak Project aims to restore the nature of the Isuskitza oak forest, which has supplied the town of Plentzia with wood for shipbuilding since the Middle Ages. They want to reclaim the oak grove and give value to the public lands. With the help of young volunteers and young Sixth Formers, they have cleared a plot of about 6,000 meters around the summit of Isuskitzamendi, removed the eucalyptus trees, and started planting an edible forest. They want to establish a calendar with the High School in order to do some work every month, in all courses. As well as that, in the area of the river estuary, they have not forgotten the existing oa-grove and the association has applied for a grant from the town hall this year, which will allow them to remove a part of the eucalyptus trees every year, and plant oaks and other native species. And as always, we are ready to help out! Small actions, big dreams!
