Oasis or desert?

We have unfortunately seen how our butterfly oases in both Gatika and Mungia have been abandoned.

The one in Mungia is one year old but the town-hall has not continued the contract with the gardener for its upkeep. The long-promised information panel was never put up! The Gatika project started off well and many people took part but last year the place was only briefly cared for before being totally abandoned. Now that the grass has been cut the panel stands by itself, a lonely testimony to what might have been.

But we`re still optimistic about finding a solution. At least there still the oasis in Plentzia which, as can be seen in the video, is looking good.

There`s also still the butterfly oasis in Jatabe-Maruri which has been done by children from the village, as well as the oasis in Gamiz in the land of EMAUS! And Fruiz town-hall has also maintained its oasis!
