The Korrika is a fun-run in favour of the Basque language organized by AEK (Organisation providing Basque classes for adults). This year marked the 20th edition of the Korrika and Butroi Bizirik Transition Group took part along with other local groups.
Ours was the 1978th kilometre and we did it on Wednesday evening at around 10:00 pm when we took it from Arrieta Town-Council at the Bidebarrieta roundabout before passing it over to Meñaka Town-Council. There were lots of people running from the direction of Bakio and even more when we took the baton in our kilometre. We continued towards Mungia enjoying a brilliant atmosphere and thanks to the people of Larrauri we regained strength with hot chocolate and “txurros” (doughnut-style fingers) that we were offered.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART!!!
AND HERE`S HOPING EVEN MORE PEOPLE WILL TAKE PART IN THE NEXT KORRIKA!!!
YES WE CAN !!!
